Privacy is an important issue to our employees and customers.  As a company, Total Outfitters prides itself on protecting employee’s personal information as well as data gathered in order to maintain our customer relationships.  We are committed to meeting or exceeding the privacy standards established by the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) with regard to the collection, use and disclosure of personal information.

Personal information means information that can identify an individual but does not include business contact information.  As an employer and service provider, Total Outfitters requires personal information in order to establish an employment relationship.  This information includes such things as social insurance number, date of birth, driver’s license number, health care insurance number and other identifying or related information.  Business contact information is defined by PIPA as information normally found on a business card, such as job titles, business telephone numbers, business address and e-mail.

Personal information is gathered from our employees and clients directly and, with their consent, used only for the purpose that it was collected.  Personal information is kept accurate and up-to-date through direct communications with the parties involved.  Employees and clients have the right to request access to their personal information that Total Outfitters has on file and to also have errors or omissions corrected. 

Total Outfitters has procedures in place that will ensure personal information is stored in a secure manner with restricted access.  Whenever an individual’s employment relationship ends at Total Outfitters, their personal information is retained only for as long as reasonable for business and legal reasons.

Total Outfitters does not disclose any customer information held by the company.  We do not sell or share any information stored in our customer database.  The information we collect depends on the nature of our business relationship and is limited only to the information needed to provide our customers with better services.

Personal information would be disclosed without consent only in response to circumstances noted in section 20 of PIPA.  Such circumstances would include an emergency that threatens the life, health or security of an individual or upon receipt of a demand received from a law enforcement agency or public body.
